Remember folks:

Drink sensibly!

Don't say 'oh go on, just the one then!'

And never finish a night saying 'I want another little pinky doo!'

:p

Okay, found it thanks to Urban Dictionary:

1. drinky poo

What Jim Lahey calls an alcoholic drink in Trailer Park Boys. Lahey is known to become wasted off his ass and scheme with Randy to get Ricky and Julian kicked out of the trailer park while constantly drinking his "drinky poos."

Another drinky poo Randy bo bandy?

Never watched that show. Didn't know expressions coined there have found their way into general slang.

How many nurseries do you suppose provide alcohol for their clients?

I've heard of drinky poohs. It's a silly expression that queens sometimes use. It's neither offensive or childish. It's just a word for booze when you're having a bit of fun. Lighten up.

Don't think the expression was coined in that show. The writers of the show may have used it but it's been around in European English for many years.

OK, now I'm confused. What am I not using right?

The term "lighten up":

to lighten up means to relax, to become less serious or less angry. (again, Urban Dictionary)

Nothing about my post was in any way serious or angry, so I don't see why you told me to lighten up.

(And yes, now this was a serious post. But in no way an angry one.)

I was referring to the fact that you were getting so literal that you were beginning to quote dictionary definitions. As a native English speaker, I find that dictionaries are all very well but they don't allow for nuances in everyday speech. In many ways, a dictionary is out of date by the time it goes to print - or appears on the net.
When I said 'lighten up' I was suggesting that you were too literal and serious for what was an aside rather than the main subject of the post which was (if I remember rightly) 'Which 'drink' is your favourite?'
So, yes, lighten up - just tell us your fav drink without getting hung up on the phraseology of the question. That's the point I was TRYING to make. Cor blimey!

Dude, did I kick your puppy or something?

Several people asked about the term "drinky poo" (which actually was the subject of the thread). Also, you weren't referring to my dictionary quoting at all, but to my bad nursery pun. But that's beside the point - if you always freak out when someone goes on a tangent here, then maybe this isn't the right forum for you. Seriously, I think you're the one who should just lighten up. We're all joking around here.
