Why not both? Not at the same time obviously - but I genuinely enjoy both options. I have to say though, when I'm in Belgium, there is no choice, they make the nicest mayonnaise in the world - and they know how to cook a mean chip!

I like both (not at the same time). It depends on the mood.
I also like fries with mustard sauce (which I think is mustard with mayo).

My favorite thing for fries is Tabasco sauce. Mayo works for me as well, catsup only if the fries are super fresh and sizzling hot.

a friend of mine at work mixes both mayo and ketchup together--i dont know why but he wont eat fries without it that way

there's this thing they serve up in the French province of Canada, Quebec, called a poutine. It's like a huge mound of fries, mixed with bits of white cheddar cheese and lots of gravy. really heavy and filling and prob lots of fat, but tasty. was driving thru and stopped at a mobile snack truck that makes these poutines. my buddy from that region persuaded me to taste his, and I was hooked.

I occasionally put gravy on mine, I think it's more common in the north of England, but they're good with gravy !
