Steering away from the studio blockbusters that we all know about here are 3 of my fav movies that you might have missed ..or maybe you've seen them all..

Everything is Illuminated - a wonderful and weird journey of discovery, Elijah Wood in Liev Schreiber's directorial debut. Bittersweet striking and poignant.

Pan's Labyrinth - Guillermo Del Torro's mesmerising gothic adult faerie tale set against the backdrop of the spanish civil war...stunning.

Donnie Darko - a cult classic, after you've finished watching it the first time its a big WHATTHEFUCKWASTHATALLABOUT??.. but I luv it. Jake Gyllenhall is Donnie

Guillermo apparently does "1 movie for us, then 1 movie for himself" so you get the Hellboy and Blade movies ( for us ) as well as the Pan's Labyrinth etc. I like most of his stuff, although I never reallty got into the Blade series, but I love "Cronos" - a surreal and different take on the vampire movie where the "vampire" is mechanical scarab-type beetle with a parasite inside and "The Devil's Backbone" - also set in civil war time Spain, but in a childrens home stalked by Santi - a decaying decomposing spirit, it's a deliciously dark, brooding, blood chilling ghost story and so beautifully shot and told by the mexican master.

OMG I HAVE SO MANY!! I would post pictures but.. i don't care to learn at the moment but heres a list of movies that I would highly recommend:

Entrapment - Catherine Zeta Jones and Sean Connery
Stepmom - Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon
Devil Wears Prada - Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep
Disney's Hercules is always good
300 - Gerard Butler !

:D THOSE ARE AWESOME PS. Any movies with Julia Roberts, Susan Sarandon and Meryl Streep is fantastic!

Btw - Cant wait to watch Julie and Julia :D

This is an older movie tho... Two months ago I watched Jumper (2008) and I liked the movie and the guy (Hayden Christensen) :D

A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between "Jumpers" and those who have sworn to kill them. (Read more)

I love how you call a movie from 2008 an "older movie" ;)

And taste does differ apparently - I hated Jumper. Really, really hated it.

Haha :D Well, since February 2008 until today there are produced many new movies, so "Jumper" is kinda old, and I watched it for the first time two months ago :p

Well, I didn't say it's my top favorite movie. I just mentioned it as a movie I have watched in the last time, a movie that attracted my attention, because of the guy and because of the teleporting :D

p.s. I hope you don't hate (Hayden Christensen) :worried:

Actually I do. He sucked in Jumper, he sucked in Star Wars and he sucked in Virgin Territory (which was also a horrible movie). The only time I saw some decent acting from him was in Life As A House, but that was a homophobic right-wing movie.

Yeah.. I wasn't so in love with Hayden Christensen.. :(.. I did however want to watch the movie that he was in.. which I think it was him.. when he was getting a surgery done and he was actually awake throughout the whole operation and couldn't say anything! Was that him? I heard it was very good =)

Yeah, that was him. Title of the movie is Awake.
Never seen it, but the critics hated it - only 24% on rottentomatoes.

You do know that 24% is a really bad rating, right?

100% - PERFECT
0% - Worst movie ever

So, 24% means "Really bad movie" - only 1 in 4 reviewers liked it.

But Roger Ebert really liked it. That surprised me.
