I was listening to an interview with Terry"genius"Gilliam earlier and was suprised to find he will celebrate his 70'th birthday later this year!!.. and it prompted me to post this very odd trailer for the excellent Time Bandits

How may I interest you in my favoured movies?
Like to write what made the excitement to me:
Recommend you:
Amadeus by Milos Forman - an amusing composition of crime, history and music - the story of the genius in his relation to his adversary Salieri with incredible actors and perfect music.

and a second one:
Alexander by Oliver Stone - our ancient gay hero and his relationship with Hephaistion as ruler of the world - you couldn' get enough of this rush for the senses.

To be honest, I couldn't be bothered to browse through 24 pages of comments to see if either of my favourite movies have been mentioned.

I like the Australian film 'Vince and Larry' and 'Birdcage'.

Both movies make me laugh at myself and this can never be a bad thing.

Yup! One of the best!

Assume you could find nothing on 'Vince and Larry' starring Paul Hogan?

A struggling widower businessman finds a new tax loophole offered in Australia to same sex couples. Needing a tax break, he cajoles his best friend, also a widower, into filing papers indicating they are a gay couple living together and assuring him that the small town (population 652) they live in (Yakandanda - it's a real place) will never have a clue. However, their return letter from the government pops open and the town busybody soon has it spread all over town without the two men's knowledge. Meanwhile, the letter tells the men that a tax inspector will be coming to investigate their claim. The two decide they have to learn to act gay, so they get lessons from a local hair dresser and visit a gay nightclub in Sydney. Written by John Sacksteder

There was a Hollywood film based on a similar storyline, made shortly after the Australian movie, which is, in my humble opinion, not nearly as good as the Aussie original.
