Romney seems to be quite the monster. Here's a quote from the Huffington Post:
"We've witnessed many Mitt Romneys, but the one unearthed by the Boston Globe's Murray Waas yesterday is perhaps the most vicious and cruel: a zealot who, as Massachusetts governor, became hellbent on stigmatizing the children of gay and lesbian parents, labeling these kids as outcasts and causing them to suffer hardship throughout their lives.
Waas reveals how, after gays and lesbians in Massachusetts won the right to marry in 2003, Governor Romney wouldn't allow the Registry of Vital Records and Statistics to revise birth certificate forms for babies born to same-sex couples. The plan was to have the box for "father," for example, relabeled "father or second parent." But according to doents obtained by Waas, Romney rejected the plan, demanding the agency continue using old forms. Romney then demanded hospitals get permission from his office each time a child was born to a same sex-couple in order to cross out, with a pen, the label "father" or "mother," and write-in, with a pen, "second parent." (Romney also required gay male parents to get a court order before any birth certificate was issued.)
Those children would then go through life with birth certificates that marked them as strange, abnormal, less than everyone else, punished because Romney didn't approve of their parents. As a Department of Health attorney warned Romney, the children would be disadvantaged and would have trouble applying to school or getting drivers licenses as adults, particularly in a post-9/11 world where they might be considered security risks, having birth certificates that appeared altered. It was a "violation of existing statutes," the attorney warned Romney. But Romney waved off the warnings, not caring about the the legal, psychological or personal ramifications."
This from a guy who ran for senator from my state and insisted he was more pro gay rights than his opponent, Ted Kennedy.
For those of you who do not know, Ted Kennedy was a champion for civil rights his entire career.
Romney will say anything to win. We need better than that for president.
During the U.S. military draft for the Vietnam War, Romney sought and received two 2-S student deferments, then a 4-D ministerial deferment while living in France as a Mormon missionary. He later sought and received two additional student deferments. All the while campaigning in support of the war. As long as it was only poor people being sent to fight...
And now he wants to be Commander In Chief of all the US armed forces?
Let us not forget that Romney is a religious zealot. And as a citizen of a nation that often finds itself at odds with the American government, and as one who is familiar with religious zealots himself, Ask yourself one question...
Do you really want this fuck-wad with his finger on the launch button of an ICBM pointed at you?
The idea that Romney is even a credible candidate is embarrassing. Very glad I live in Europe where most of those social value wars (gay marriage, abortion) have been won.
Speech Romney in Tampa, Florida.
Attention: interesting part starts after 12 min. and 50 seconds.
It is about the secret of the love between his parents.
Is it possible that the real name of his father was Tom Shovelton?
True romance: Britain's real-life Romeo has put a rose by his wife's bedside every day for 60 years
By JAYA NARAIN
Every now and then devoted husbands make an extra special effort to bring a little romance to their marriages.
But wives across the country may well be pointing to Tom Shovelton today and telling their husbands they are simply not doing enough.
For Mr Shovelton, who is a sprightly 87, has put a fresh rose at his wife's bedside every single day of the 60 years they have been married.
Lasting love: Tom Shovelton with his wife of 60 years, Joan. The 87-year-old has put a rose on his wife's pillow every morning for the last 60 years
And if that supremely romantic gesture wasn't enough to shame most husbands in Britain, there is more.
For every morning he also kisses his 83-year-old wife Joan and every night he ensures she goes to sleep with another kiss.
These simple acts must secure the octogenarian the accolade of one of the most romantic husbands in the country.
The couple, from Pentre Halkyn in Flintshire, North Wales, were yesterday celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary.
Mrs Shovelton said: 'I still get a rose by my bedside every day and I always get a kiss in the morning and before I go to bed at night.
'We have lived and worked together all our lives, so we know how important give and take is. We've had a happy 60 years together. I wouldn't have changed a thing.'
Perfect match: Tom and Joan on their wedding day in 1949
It was a chance meeting on New Year's Eve of 1946, the year after the end of the Second World War, that led to the lasting union.
'When we first met, I was on leave from the Land Army,' said Mrs Shovelton.
'Tom was a farmer in Lancashire. My sister was going with Tom's brother and we were introduced in a pub in Cheshire.' The couple courted for around two years before getting married in Marton Grafton near Ripon, in York.
They had a shared love of horticulture and worked together as market gardeners selling produce across the Manchester area.
Since they retired 22 years ago they have continued to enjoy gardening together at their home.
Mr Shovelton does not think his loving gesture of putting a fresh rose at his wife's bedside every day is remarkable.
Old romantic: Tom says little gestures like kissing his wife morning and night are key to their long and happy marriage
He believes that if more couples made a selfless gesture to their spouse or loved one, there would be fewer broken relationships.
'Everyone should do it,' he said. 'I love her to bits - I have done since the day we met.'
The couple, who have children, Susan, Tony, Mark and twins Jayne and Paul, also have ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
They spent their anniversary celebrating with friends at the Autumn Club in Holywell before a family party at a hotel.
Earlier this year researchers found that plenty of kisses, cuddles and a few romantic nights out helped keep a relationship alive.
Research by confetti.co.uk, the wedding planning website, came up with the vital ingredients after asking 3,000 married people the secrets of staying together.
dont waste your vote, I know it sounds cynical but its true. There are some races at a lower level (congressional, state supreme court, judges, etc) where minority parties have a chance of winning, but there's no chance that a third party candidate for president can even have a shot of winning one state in today's election.
on another note, do you think that Romney has the temperament to be president? watch the video below and decide (spoiler alert: after Jesus comes back he will rule from Jerusalem and Missouri simultaneously :duh: )

Politicians in the UK who express strong religious views are often treated with suspicion, one reason Tony Blair hid his catholicism until he left office. The current leader of the opposition is a confessed aethiest, about the only point in his favour actually ) , but it's completely the reverse in the USA !
But even if we ditch the Mitt, we'll still have his annoying fratboy running mate, Paul Ryan. He'll be around for a while.
Want some hope on the political hottie front? At some point, the republicans will have to move past their "old white men who hate everyone" phase. They might turn to a woman, or they might to turn to MARCO!
Marco Rubio is a Cuban American senator from Florida. He's hot. He's huggable; he's fuckable.
Marco: I won't vote for you. But remember, democrats can fuck! Call me. We'll show them bipartisen.
