Problems with Depositfiles

It's completely ridiciulous. It feels like a throwback to the days of the dial-up!

For all the complaints about Oron, it's basically the only site that really works for me nowadays.

I also thought DepositFiles was reliable and fairly fast, but the last week it seems to have become extremely slow and unreliable for free downloaders. I don't think paying to upgrade is an option at the moment as servers are coming and going and changing their policies so quickly that if you sign up you risk losing your money tomorrow when everyone switches to another server.

I won't touch it anymore. It takes well over two hours for the smaller files..the larger ones can take up to seven hours to finish.

From several days it is impossible to download with depositfiles.

Maximum 10 kb s speed, it is irritating and unfair.

When I see a download depositfiles, renounce download.

Yep, that's been my experience as well.

Ditto for me, too. Oron can be agonizingly slow but it always seems to work. On another forum filesmonster always works too, although again very slow with 45 min waits between segments. The others all crap out before the download is complete or shoot up to nine hours remaining after an hour of 10 kbs. Now I just look for Oron. Luckily for me, there seems to be very little produced now that I want to see. I look at the review and preview sites and see that there is nothing coming out. Since the great "purge" in late January 2012, I been limited to about two downloads a week. That's a far cry from previous to the "purge".

Why no one uses MediaFire is beyond me. It's fast and has very few restrictions. Somewhere I read that MF doesn't pay uploaders so maybe that's the rub.

I agree Howardjk, Mediafire has always been fast and free. It continues to be fast and free even during this malaise we have encountered across the board with filehosts. I have encouraged use of Mediafire for the last few years. It is fast and it is free.

I just now downloaded a file posted by Wagnesium at a speed of 912kbs. Somebody show me another filehost that does that kind of speed for free downloaders?

Just saying folks, take a look at Mediafire!

Am I the only one who can't download anything from Depositfiles? Each time I get the message ''Attention! Connection limit has been exhausted for your IP address! Please try in ** minute(s)/hour(s)'' even though I haven't downloaded anything from them.

Today I'm trying to download a file and again got the same message which told me to try in 23 minutes. After waiting 23 minutes I tried again, this time it's telling me to wait 2:08 hours - WTF!!!

Unfortunately, nearly all the files I want seem to be on Depositfiles, which means I can hardly download anything now. Anyone know of a solution to this?

I wish people would use more reliable hosts like Rapidshare, Mediafire, Crocko, Sendspace, Files.Mail.ru. or at least use those as mirror hosts.

Why you should pick solely on Depositfiles I don't know, obviously you wanted something and couldn't get it in the time you wanted. I can tell you under the current situation with file hosts most of them are under a lot of pressure. There are other problems that can be related as well like time of day and also geographical location, I have a problem with mediafire, sometimes it is fine sometimes I can't get a file to download and jdownloader states there are file host problems. The staff here have been testing out file hosts and whether it is a fair test or not at this present time I don't know, because as I said they are all under a lot of pressure, but the file hosts are not helping themselves by keeping quiet about the situation and what they are doing to help change that.
Have you thought about taking out a subscription to Depositfiles to get a faster download speed. You can't expect a company to allow free downloads equal priority over their paying customers, just like you can't expect uploaders here to take out membership of several different file hosts so you get more choice.

Well that is the main cause of the problems every poster was trying to find established hosts and this led to an overload on the servers. Until file hosts do something about updating servers then you/we are going to get these problems with all file hosts. Unfortunately the hosts that are faster most don't have affiliate programs so most posters here won't use them.
