Problems with Depositfiles

I singled out Depositfiles because at the time I started this thread (01-25-2012) almost everyone here started uploading to DF after the shutting down of the main file hosts -- bad for me because I couldn't download anything from DF. Things improved when I started using jdownloader, but more recently even with jdownloader downloading from DF has become painfully slow -- I'm trying to download a 495mb file and the projected completion time is 1 day & 13 hours... just ridiculous!

And no, I don't expect equal priority as their paying customers, but something close to acceptable download speeds would be nice -- 9 kb/s is taking the piss! Thankfully, most of the files I want are to be found on Oron also, so I can mostly avoid Depositfiles now.

So I really have to ask, did you ever get the file after all the time? Typically, if is is slow it will eventually stop and I get the fail notice. If you never got the file tell what is was and I bet someone (like me) might be able to help you.

Well, for me that actually is the case, because Deposit Files is unusable while Oron eventally gets the job done. I repeat, FOR ME.

I'm certainly not starting a crusade against Deposit Files, I'm just stating what my experience has been lately (and apparently the experience of some others as well) and I'm sorry if it hurts anyone's feelings (though I really don't see why it should, but it's just the way it is.

Yeah, it was so slow it eventually stopped. Luckily, I found the file on another host and managed to download it.

i use very fast download speeds / faster than with oron

around the clock stable multiple connections

with a Gold- (means premium on DF) Status "as Uploader: for free", otherwise for low prices for all Downloaders.

Yes, i had Oron tested some time ago as Premium User & Uploader and he had shaky conditions for Workers (Uploaders) and unacceptable high prices for (big volume-) Downloaders

- Depositfiles was stabil during the crisis and is Partner of Paypal up to date

(the only problem: i can get a Ban because dmca on df)

- Oron was not stable, and have lost the worldwide most used Paypal Option

Yes .. at the Moment i see Floods of Oron Re-Re-Postings mostly from Automatic-Re-Posting Tools in Forums ... no "Firstpost" means: no fresh exclusive premiere file(s)

this Automatic Re-Posting Tools Owners hope he make big Money with Oron

but it can give a rude awakening.

if i will drink a Coke, i pay also some cents ..

therefore i have High Speed and the host can pay her servers

don't forget: Oron can also only exist with premium-members

consequently are Fairness & Conditions to Premium-Users important

I happen to agree with unwin that the original title of this thread is not constructive and gives the wrong impression.

As mentioned elsewhere, the Gay Heaven team is currently trying to evaluate file hosts for our recommendations and voicing your opinions is needed, but we want this to be kept to such constructive critiques.

In the spirit of this, this thread title has been changed to Problems with DepositFiles

As a free user, in the last week I noticed depositfiles download speed going down to very low levels, around 10 kB/s or even less. I don't know if this is because they now have much more people downloading from them, or if they decided to throttle the bandwidth for free users.

This week Depositfiles has a new message that says "unable to download? Try again". You can try again as many times as you like, you won't get anywhere without paying for the service.

They might be experiencing technical difficulties on what ever mirror is closest to you. I've downloaded a few things from DF this week, including one this evening, and no problems at all as a free user.

Watch your download files, I had that happen and ended up with 3 copies of the original attempt. Definitely something wrong
