This is weird. You must contact them again. If you payed for the service, they must provide you everything what is needed to log in. Maybe you try to contact them through
here. Write to
smatrix who is the representative of Sharingmatrix on Gayheaven forum. I'm sure they will gladly help you.
LOL Help? From SharingMatrix / FileSonic or whatever they call themselves now? Please! LOL I have emailed them at least 6 times in the past and I got a response once. I even emailed smatrix, the rep on this site, and got ignored! Bottom line seems to be if you email them with a complaint or problem, you will be ignored. I had the same thing happen to me - subscribed and never received a password. Try changing your password and request your current one when given a link that you don't remember your current password and you'll at least get an auto email with the info you need to login.
We've all seen LOTS of complaints from users on this site about this service and how bad it is - unreliable, very slow speeds, getting cut off when file is only partially loaded, etc. etc. etc. Have you seen these same issues from OTHER services? No! Because the other services seem to take their job seriously and do provide what they say they will. If you pay for a premium account, you get faster downloads from these providers. Hell, most of the other services offer FREE speeds faster than speeds I got with a 'premium' filesonic account! LOL
Recently there was a string of files that I really wanted to download that were only showing up as filesonic files. I tried downloading, but seriously I think I got better download speeds back in the 90's when we all had dial-up service! LOL Single digit kps - maybe into the teens a few times, before getting cut off before the file finished downloading. I bit the bullet, used PayPal to subscribe figuring I'd download everything I could for the month and not renew. Yea, right! Sure, I got faster speeds - way up into the 80kps range! LOL THAT is their 'premium' service?? Really? Trying different times of day did nothing to help, rebooting computer, broadband router, etc. still the same. I don't live out in the middle of no-where - Austin, TX, with lots of high tech and LOTS of bandwidth! All the while the other file services just keep feeding me well over 500 kps - sometimes as fast as 1.5 MB/sec! I wrote and and complained to filesonic and after waiting a week and hearing nothing (naturally!) I filed a dispute through PayPal.
Others that have paid through PayPal should also file a dispute and request a refund - we are not getting what we paid for! Here's what filesonic said:
Upgrade to Premium and get:
* Unlimited Parallel downloads
* High speed downloads
* Download files of any size
* Downloads start without delay
* Upload files up to 2 GB
* Secure, password-protected links
* No download timeout
* Files always kept on server
If you are not getting all of the above, you should demand a refund. Simple as that.
A question that has to be asked of the people who POST to filesonic is WHY? My guess is that they are making money or they too would quit using the service. The service must work when you are close enough to their server - and I have to guess they only have ONE, since so many folks have problems! LOL I saw that they were paying premium prices in July for files uploaded and subsequently downloaded - and money is always a motivator! Even this sight is mostly silent about these problems posed by users - and in many cases supportive of filesonic! Look back through the archives and other services have been banned for what seems like far less complaints. GayHeaven is obviously not going to ban the use of filesonic - for monetary or other reasons known only to the admins. All the complaining we've all been doing is falling on deaf ears.
At some point filesonic will either get better and offer more servers, faster and reliable downloads, and prompt customer service or they will fall by the side of the road and be forgotten months from now when another new service emerges. Looking back, there was a time a few months ago that sharingmatrix WAS an acceptable service! It seems that they started their downhill slide just before announcing the change to filesonic. And they did go downhill rather quickly.
In the meantime, we should just bypass files offered on filesonic and stop complaining, hoping that a file we really want is offered by another poster on another more reliable service. When I see a file I really want I'll start thanking the poster and asking if someone that is successful downloading with filesonic would be so kind to post using another file sharing service. I urge you to do the same.
If you got this far... THANKS for reading!
