I really think is file-sharing service should be banned -- their "free" downloading seldom works as it should. They are either deliberately sabotaging it to frustrate users into paying for upgrades, or they are simply incompetent.

No matter how good a video appears, it's not worth it to try downloading from this source.

I even bought an account and today it took over an hour to download a one scene file. With Hotfile I downloaded a similar sized scene in about three minutes.

How long do the files last on SM or Hotfile anyway?

I wished more people would use MU though. I can still get files posted last year, and the speed is excellent most of the time. Can't dl from other places though.

It's been great for me! I use a file download manager, (why wouldn't you?) and I've never had any problems at all. Lately they're working on upgrading their entire system, so there's been problems... but for me, they are fast and fine.
Get a download manager and stop whining...

Why, because $9 is small change to you and you assume it is to others? What about those people who are really struggling. $9 could be extra food in the cupboard.

If a share site gets X number of users only a small-ish percentage will go on to become paid-up premium users. That small percentage often simply isn't enough to get a site noticed. So, free users (uploaders as well don't forget) are far more important than you appear to think. They help boost any site's popularity. Do you think Gmail would be so huge if it discouraged free users?

Someone also mentioned contacting SM to report free user issues. It doesn't work that way does it? We use a site a few times and if it simply doesn't work we move on and seldom go back.

That's why I think SM is playing a dangerous business game if it is actively discouraging/barring free users. Such actions can be self-defeating in a market with so many other choices.

Is it just me, or do others think as a file hosting service that Sharingmatrix SUCKS?

I've only begun to post and use Hotfile. I've been downloading for a while and never have issues with Hotfile.

Is it that Sharingmatrix posters have premium accounts for faster downloading?

Then you just click on all the downloads you want and wait for them to finish... it might take a day, but they will all download eventually.

By the way, did you bother to read this thread? Just two people complained about speed and one of those says he has a paid-for account.

Most don't complain about speed, they complain that SM does not work at all. It doesn't matter what download manager they use, in some countries (and it does seem to be a country-specific problem) the service simply resets every ten minutes and the majority of free users get nothing.

Count yourself lucky you get a free service at all out of SM but don't moronically attack those who don't.

I'm all for free speech but there is really no need for that kind of attitude. Everyone has a point of view and their own experience. If you'd like to discuss yours or disagree with others you don't have to descend to name-calling, it certainly won't get your point across

Just to give my point of view, if something isn't good for you then don't use it. Plenty else to see, and lack of downloads (if there are any) may prove a point. People vote with their feet, or mouse in this case.
