I shave mine every so often. I just use soap in the shower.
2 weeks ago, cut myself pretty bad, didn't really notice it at first,
but when I rinsed off, OUCH!!. I love the feeling of having smooth balls.
I do work out a lot, and do a lot of cardio, and when the hairs grow back
the first week gets tough with with sweat and skin rubbing.
I did lean something interesting lately about body hair.
Generally, those closest to the equator have the most hair and those of us in northern climates have the least. Hair on the legs, arms, chest, and back is so people can sense when insects are on them and they can swat them off.
Mosquitoes and what not to prevent the spread of diseases.
Hair around the genitals acts as a lubricate, and buffer between to pieces of skin. That way one doesn't get heat rashes when they are sweating and their skin is rubbing against other skin.
