The greatest gift for me would be to...be able to talk to my mom at least for 1 minute...just to have enough time to tell her how much I love her and how I regret some things I said in the past and how they torment me even today...:|

Wow... *hugs Jamie; this time because he needed one* Sweetie, I go through something similar almost every day. It's not my mother, though (she's still very much with us); it would be a woman I considered my second mother. She died last year from AIDS complications and we hadn't spoken in years due to some stupidity that went on. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her or wish I would've had the courage to go up to her, apologize and hug her and tell her how much I appreciated her.

They say that the ones we loved that passed on hold no ill will toward us and they know of our love regardless, but it's hard to keep that in mind when you hold on to such regrets.

i'm pretty sure you have tried thousands of things to feel better and have heard even more "good" advice on that.
now i take the risk of sounding like a broken disk, but there another piece of advice (that will only make sense if your mother had died, which i assume...): a patient once told me that he wrote a letter to a person he had lost, he went to his favorite place, read it out aloud and burned it, so that his words can find their way to heaven...
