my dear Lord - 41 years and I've never heard from it! Truly it has never found its way to Germany and the German TV.

In 2004, Chinese officials gather at the brand-new Shanghai International Circuit racetrack in anticipation of the next day’s inaugural Formula One Chinese Grand Prix. Though Formula One racing was traditionally a European sport, the builders and boosters of the state-sponsored Shanghai track–part of an elaborate complex called the Shanghai International Auto City - hoped that they could help the sport catch on in Asia. The day after the raceway opened, some 150,000 people filled the stands as the Brazilian driver Rubens Barrichello won its inaugural race.

In 2006, Russian journalist and human rights activist Anna Politkovskaya was assassinated. A leading voice in Russia, reporting on the Chechnya war, was shot four times, and the fatal shot was fired at her head in a lift in her Moscow apartment building. The echo of these shots still ring in our memory with the question: when will justice be served?

At 1 pm today the Secretary of the Swedish Academy Sara Danius announced that Bob Dylan had been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature 2016.

Lot's of Swedish journalists, literary critics and publisher's have been pretty grumpy today: "- Dylan is a musician, he's isn't in literature..."

Well they're wrong. Not only has he written books, but the most important thing is this: He's a poet, and poetry doesn't begin in writing. Poetry is about song and performance, not necessarily something written.

Dylan is unquestionably one of the greatest songwriters who has ever lived. ;)

Had a Dream About You Baby

Her heart is jumpin'
It's really somethin'
The beat is pumpin'
My heart is thumpin'
Spent my money on you honey
My limbs are shakin'
My mind is breakin'

In 1978, Karol Józef Wojtyła, the Archbishop of Kraków, won the papal elections that were held after his predecessor Pope John Paul I died after only 33 days in office. As Pope, Wojtyła took on the name of John Paul II. The first non-Italian Pope for more than 400 years was the second-longest serving pope in modern history, after Pope Pius IX, who was in office for over 31 years.
