Rachmaninov's 2nd piano concerto is probably on of his most well known pieces and it has this wonderful slow movement that I want to share here.

One more time Karajan shows his qualities as the "Sound-Magician" and makes the orchestral part just shining - and Alexis Weissenberg plays so lyrical and with beuatiful touch on the keyboard.

Unfortuantely Karajan & Weissenberg didn't record very much but this even filmed concert is another beauty and it is wonderful that we have that.

I dare say a lot of people know this tune without knowing who composed it or where it's from. It's one of my favourites also.
