The Trojan War, not Homer’s but by a current historian and classicist from Cornell, Barry Strauss.

Hadrian and the triumph of Rome by Anthony Everitt, makes the History Channel’s account of the same, shallow and pitiful.

Less, by Andrew Sean Greer; a gay life, sensitively and well written.
