The Hundred Years old man, who jumped out of the window, and went away, (There comes a movie at the end of the year)

This book has just been adapted into a radio series, here in the UK. It was brilliant, I laughed so much.:thumbs up:

I have just finished The Dragon Empress by Marina Warner. It is the biography of Yehonala, a low ranking concubine who became the Dowager Empress Cixi and dominated China for more than fifty years. I am interested in the history of late Imperial China and Cixi is a fascinating character. She was a monster and a dictator but I still have a sneaking admiration for her.

Yes it`s a great read, particularly if you have an interest in the era. I described Cixi as a monster but in truth, she was no more monstrous than those who came after the fall of the Empire; the warlords, the Japanese and Chairman Mao.

lost a bet and ended up reading the sandi lynn trilogy as payment.
and boy did i pay....books were terrible.

I also recommend: einstein's dreams by alan lightman , a fave of mine, together with flowers for algernon.

Currently enjoying Buy-ology and Stephen Levitt's Freakonomics series
