I knew when I saw Atonement she would have an amazing career. There is no doubt, she's the most talented actress of her generation...

I know she won't win this year but hope she wins one in the future.

I finally got hearing aids last Friday, I put it off for years as many seniors do. I am so happy I got them because I have rediscovered how truly magnificent music and the sounds of nature are.

Maybe it's a bit like my joy over a really good eyesight again after my recent cataract surgery in both eyes? I don't need expensive glasses anymore (besides my reading glasses - and they're not expensive!!!) Hallelujah :cheers:

I got them third time... they wear off over the years, but every time I got new ones they are a class better... I think i got the best ones available in germany and one of the best audiologists, thank u

I love that they are blue tooth and you can adjust them with your phone. Thanks for the info that they wear off over time.:cheers:

Tonight, Saturday 8 February 2020, young Swedish-American pool-vaulter Armand Duplantis made a new world record indoors in Torun, Poland: 6 meters 17 centimeters!!! 617 centimeters!!!

He's just 20 years old & impossibly cute, on top of being a superb athlete & one of the greatest pool-vaulters of all times!!! :thumbs up::thumbs up::thumbs up:

He's an incredible talent. He might be the new Bubka.

Absolutely fantastic concert in Zagreb, at Dom Sportova (The House of Sports). A small venue but with great athmosphere and a perfect sound! Tom Smith and the band seemed to be in a good mood. Editors proved to be very talented and great live performers. The choice of songs was a greatest hits list. They played 24 songs, covering hits from their full repertoire.

Just a couple of other things: 1) While Armand's dad is American (and a good athlete in his own time) his mum is from the same Swedish province I come from, the province of Dalarna.; 2) He goes by the pet name "Mondo"; 3) And let's say he's one of the hottest favourites for an Olympic Gold Medal this summer... :cheers:

Oscars 2020

I loved that Parasite won Best Picture and Best Director! :thumbs up:

First foreign language film to ever win this award. Such an incredible film, totally deserved.

When I watched this movie at Liffe festival in Ljubljana months ago I remember thinking, this is the best movie I've seen in a really really long time.

Well deserved, if you haven’t seen it yet, highly recommended.
