JUROR #2 (2024)

While serving as a juror in a high-profile murder trial, a family man finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma, one he could use to sway the jury verdict and potentially convict or free the wrong killer. (IMdB)

Probably the last movie directed by the GREAT Clint Eastwood. A film similar to "12 ANGRY MEN" but full of great suspense.
Nicholas Hoult is gorgeous in his role as the Juror #2. This is a real MUST SEE and is very recommended as all the films made by C. Eastwood.

Just because I saw so many negative reviews, I had to watch it... Star Trek: Section 31
It was certainly a choice, it didn't feel anything like the Star Trek that I know and felt like a cheap mash-up of Guardians of the Galaxy and Suicide Squad. The only parts I enjoyed were Michelle Yeoh with her action scenes and over-the-top costumes.

QUEER (2024)

In 1950s Mexico City, an American immigrant in his late forties leads a solitary life amidst a small American community. However, the arrival of a young student stirs the man into finally establishing a meaningful connection with someone.Imdb

"Hey let's make a film of one of William S.Boroughs unfilmable books".....on the other hand let's not bother, even if Daniel Craig puts in an incredible performance as the queer drug addled writer

Has anyone else watched the Daniel Craig movie "Queer"?? I finished it last night and honestly I was left wanting. Craig's character (Lee) is a 50/60-something drug addict looking for love - that is the best thing I can say. I thought it was horrible and depressing. I find it hard to believe how the studio execs and an actor of Craig's caliber decided to go with the script. Did anyone else "see" something different or redeeming in this movie - I would LOVE to hear it!?! TX

THE WAY HE LOOKS (2014) ... no trailer due to actor age

Leonardo is a blind teenager dealing with an overprotective mother while trying to live a more independent life. To the disappointment of his best friend Giovana, he plans to go on an exchange program abroad. When Gabriel, a new student in town, arrives in their classroom, new feelings blossom in Leonardo that make him question his plans. Imdb

This is a coming-of-age movie from Brazil and is thoroughly charming and well worth tracking down.

'I'm Tim' 2024
The lifestory of the superstar disc jockey Avicii. Not a good film, just a lot of odd clips and interviews thrown together.
If you like his music you must see this, for anyone else there is no point,

TOMBSTONE (1993)

A successful lawman's plans to retire anonymously in Tombstone, Arizona, are disrupted by the kind of outlaws he was famous for eliminating. Imdb

This popped up on C4 TV and I had't seen it so gave it a go as many have said it's " the greatest western ever made". Kurt Russell; Val Kilmer; Charlton Heston; Sam Elliot & Bill Baxton star. I was bored and gave up after about 20 mins - maybe I should have stuck it out for longer?

Did you get to the "Huckleberry" part? I don't know if it's the greatest, but you should stick it out for longer.

'Julia' 1977
Top talent with Jane Fonda and Vanessa Redgrave, they make a perfect pair, trying to smuggle funds to antifascists just before the start of WW2.
Not exactly my kind of movie but I can see how some fans think of it as a masterpiece.

'The Smallest Show On Earth' 1957
This ancient movie, about a clapped out little cinema, is one that I never tire of seeing again and again. Love it, really love it.
So quaint, so funny, so old fashioned. You can get this free at Internet Archive.

KRAVEN THE HUNTER (2024)

Kraven's complex relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff, starts him down a path of vengeance with brutal consequences, motivating him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared. Imdb

Rubbish....Aaron-Taylor Johnson plays the adult Kraven; Russel Crowe plays the ruthless father with an accent, his son is attacked and killed by a poor quality CGI lion but a local girl just happens to be nearby and she just happens to have been given a magic potion that very morning which she uses to impart life (and superpowers) to the boy - What a stroke of luck!. and when Kraven is in London it happens that the girl with the potion from africa is now a lawyer in London so can give Kraven the info he needs to find the bad-guys that he wants to find and kill. Later Kraven's younger bro. is kidnapped by "Rhino Man" who at one stage turns into a halfman/halfrhino; ridiculous plot; terrible dialogue; some awful acting and lousy CGI. This movie was delayed by nearly 2 years... it might have been better if it stayed delayed.

Well I went back and picked up from where I left off but after getting nearly half way I gave up again. I couldn't face another hour of it.

KIN (2018) .... no trailer due to actor age

Chased by a vengeful criminal, the feds and a gang of otherworldly soldiers, an ex-con and his adopted teenage brother go on the run with a weapon of mysterious origin as their only protection. Imdb

This is on RakutenTV and I had saved it to favs. a while back so thought I'd better watch it before they take it off the site. It's not bad the 2 main leads, Jack Reynor and Miles Truitt are good. It also has Dennis Quaid and James Franco. The plot is a little uneven being part family drama; part sci-fi; part road movie but it entertained for most of its 105min runtime

BABYGIRL (2024)

A high-powered CEO puts her career and family on the line when she begins a torrid affair with her much-younger intern. Imdb

Spotted this as Harris Dickinson stars..... sadly he's the intern to Nicole Kidmans CEO. If only he had been the CEO with some cute twink as his intern I might not have been so bored.

Just, we have watched this film as well. The acting of Daniel Craig was great - but the whole film (and yes, I've watched the whole
137 minutes) was a really mostly unwatchable mess. It is only my opinion - but this film wasn't my cup of tea - no, never ever!!!

ANORA (2024)

A young escort from Brooklyn meets and impulsively marries the son of a Russian oligarch. Once the news reaches Russia, her fairy tale is threatened as his parents set out for New York to get the marriage annulled. Imdb

This has been lauded as "best film of the year" and has already won awards including the Palme D'or and has 5 Oscar/Bafta/Golden Globe nominations..... I thought it was okay, with some good performances but I'm not seeing what everyone else is seeing.

So, you're not sure that Anora is gonna to win Best picture?!

Same thoughts. Anora just doesn't seem likely to be the type to win picture....BUT I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t pick up Adapted Screenplay.
