We're getting our first real snow of the season right now. At the moment it's only about an inch deep, but we're expecting about 5 inches. I know it doesn't sound too bad, but around here people freak out at the first sign of snow.
I went to the grocery store to pick up a few thing for my mother earlier today, and my God, you'd think people were expecting a blizzard or to be snowed in until spring. It was packed and the shelves were emptying fast. People are actually stock piling food. The store was sold out of most snack cakes, microwave dinners, potatoes and onions and even in danger of running out of smoked whole hams :? I'm really confused as to why everyone was buying hams, I can only guess it's in case of a power failure, they don't have to be cooked to eat...
The bad thing for me is that I was covering my car windows with plastic so I won't have to spend an hour in the cold scraping them off before driving to work tomorrow, and slammed the car door on my hand, ouch!!! The good news is nothing is broken, just bruised and swollen and I'll probably loose a couple of finger nails, lol. It just hurts like hell, or it did before I took enough Lortab (Oxycontin) to knock out an elephant...
