I'm here in the USA and Comcast is doing the same. A Comcast page comes up (not every time, but often) and says "www.gayheaven.org does not exist." This just started happening on May 4, 2011.
Yep................I thought you guys had vanished into thin air. I have the same problem with Comcast. I'm here in the U.S.

At first I used a proxy, but that slows things down quite a bit. Then I switched the DNS service in my 'network connections,' and that worked for a while, but every so often I was forced to go back to using a proxy.

I finally followed the directions of JeansGuyOz(thanks! ;) ) and edited my hosts file. I haven't had any problems since doing that.

See his post earlier in this thread:

I found the problem of page not found. If you enter on the address bar of your browser and the site name without the www page not found result if insteadincluded http://www.gayheaven.org/ the site is visible . I suggest administrators to change server settings of the forum to add www in this case at least the notification was updated. It would also be desirable to add the rules in htaccess to ensure that the site can be opened without www.

an example of a rule might be:

Code:
RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.gayheaven\.org [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.gayheaven.org/$1 [L,R=301]

Yer I have also been having this issue for the past day or so, but very intermittent. I thought it was just GayHeaven down. But then got out my laptop and used my Vodafone 3G connection and hay presto it worked.

Looked at all my settings and all oK. but could not ping www.gayheaven.org. Gayheaven.org (without the www) came back with an IP address but when poped in browser came back with a 404 error!

Poped in the Google DNS IP address into my network card of (8.8.8.8) and hay presto it works now.

So I guess my ISP (BT Internet) has taken out the entry of www.gayheaven.org) in their DNS routing table. no idea why they would do that.

Unless IPS's have been told to my someone ABOVE to try and stop file sharing and the DNS entry has been removed, giing the casual punter to think the site is no longer around!

But I see that some of us here are techi's and know how to get around those sorts of things hehehe

Having the same problem intermittently with Verizon Fios. A lot of the time I get a search engine that also say this site doesn't exist. Then suddenly I'll try and get thru. Haven't figured out the problem.

Used the instructions given by Ton on the first page and changed to an alternate free DNS Server. Works fine now. Thanks Ton.

For those who don't want to change any settings on their computer, I found that the Anonymouse proxy works very well in getting to GH. I've been using it the last two days to get to GH when all other proxies weren't working. It's out of Germany so perhaps that's why it's helping. Link here...

Code:
http://anonymouse.org/

Just select your language choice and then type the gh address in the space provided. You will see a floating advertising box but that can be easily removed.

Here is a link to a Firefox add-on for a proxy toolbar. This has worked very reliably for me the last couple of days, and I used it to access Gay Heaven before I edited my hosts file.

Anonym zu https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/tor-proxynet-toolbar/

I was able to make posts on the forum using it (I added a couple of videos to a couple of my threads, and made a couple of other posts on the forum), and I was able to download. The only quirk was that avatars and pictures in signatures didn't show up for me.

I don't need it anymore for Gay Heaven, but I am keeping the Firefox add-on because it may come in handy for other things in the future.

I hope someone finds this useful.

had same exact problem as everyone else - but for 2 days now.
thought the site was taken down and that bummed me out

glad it's back on - i agree that there should be a 3rd party type place where folks can go to find out what's going with the site!

reporting from the Netherlands.. yesterday i could access gayheaven.org for a couple of hours and after that Chrome said "it does not exist". and now it works just fine again and it's been like this for a couple of days now. i also tried accessing through anonymouse.org and it didn't work too.

i almost fainted with the thought of GH was deleted LOL

The weird thing is that Planetsuzy.org - the site's main website is loading alright for me and it seems they don't have any problems over there. But when I access GH, its not connecting. So maybe its really an exclusive internal problem with Gayheaven, considering both (GH and planetsuzy) are on the same name servers.

FOR MAC Users :

Important Note : PLEASE DO MIND THAT HOST FILE ON MAC OSX 10.6 SNOW LEOPARD OPERATING SYSTEM IS HIDDEN AND YOU WOULD NEED TO MAKE HIDDEN FILES VISIBLE AND HERE ARE THE STEPS ON HOW TO DO THAT

Steps for Showing Hidden Files On Mac :

Now Follow these Steps To edit the Host File on Mac :

Click Macintosh HD ( on Desktop )
Now you will see all these Files and Folders that were hidden On your Mac Visible now.
Now you need to edit the permissions on the Private and etc folders and on the host file located in the etc folder. Right click each one of them and choose Get info.

Now Click On Private Folder
Then Click Etc Folder
and Now Scroll Down the Folder and Now find the file name "Host" once you found that file name drag that file out of that folder on to your desktop.

Now Once you Put in those settings above Click The Red X Button on the Top and It will ask you do you want to save the document say SAVE and to make sure its saved properly click On that Host file On The Desktop and see on the list if those settings are on there if they are then its alright and click close.
Now Drag that Host Icon back into the Etc folder and now it will ask you
" The item “hosts” can’t be moved because “etc” can’t be modified.
Now Click Authenticate Now It will ask you the following message
"An older item named “hosts” already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the newer one you’re moving?"
Now Click Replace and It will ask you for your Login Details which you use when you start up your Mac and Once you placed your Login Details Click OK and the File "Host" that was on your Desktop will be moved straight back into that folder with the new settings and then it should work after a few times refreshing the page.

Now Steps to Re Hide Hidden Files On Mac :

Click Macintosh HD ( on Desktop )
Go To Applications Folder on SideBar
Next Find the Utilities Folder and Double Click
Next Double Click Terminal
Now in the Terminal App type or copy and paste this code:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE

killall Finder

Then Click Enter now you will not see the 2 visible icons on your desktop that means the above code worked

Thanks for the instructions Cute Prince, but when I try to save the file, regardless if I choose to save as "text" or "All Files", I get an error message reading "Cannot create the blahblah file. Make sure the path and file name are correct.

Am I doing something wrong, or is my computer just a cheeky twat?

I'm experiencing the same problem (recieving a message saying that this address doesn't exist) with Google (although the message is ultimately coming from Verizon in NY), Bing, however, gave me no problem. I think I'll also make the switch.

On a proxy right now, otherwise no access. Verizon has been been unable to resolve GH on and off for the last 3 days. I got on earlier this morn' but have been blocked for several hours since.

Hey, all you people saying "the site has been down", "my ISP blocked access" etc. need to read the rather long but very helpful post from gb2000ie.

The site has not been down. Rather, somewhere along the link of domain name servers (DNS) the site's location info has somehow gone missing. Since users as far apart as Australia, the U.S., UK, Germany and the Philippines are affected, it's pretty clear that the problem is somewhere high up in the DNS network rather than with people's individual providers. So there is no need to go ringing your ISP saying "Help, stop blocking GayHeaven, I need my daily porn fix!"
