Nice choices Tom . Could listen to any of those. I actually have a 78rpm record of Mario Lanza. (wax discs that were the forerunner of vinyl 45s & LPs, hence the old DJ cliche, "stacks of wax" ! )

That's gotta be worth something. I've got 2 set of 78's, undated, Victory records,
Tchaikovsky Nutcracker suite of 3 records and a Beethoven collection.
But these are more of a laminated paper then vinyl.
I believe my father may still have some that I thought we metal.

I have so many favorite singers for so many different reasons. I suppose the easiest choice (as most can tell from the siggy and avatar) would be Britney Spears. I know she's not the best vocalist out there, but once upon a time; Britney was kind of everything for me. Whenever I was having a down day, the right upbeat song (or in truth, songs... LOL) could pick me right up and lift my spirits. Whenever I just wanted to make a good day even better, I could do the same thing. She used to be able to put on a great show and her videos were classic for a teenager like me back then (can you believe she's been around for nearly 12 years now?). So, while she might not be the pop powerhouse she was back then, I'll always have love for her.

It's really hard to define and lock down many others because I love all kinds of music from all over the place. Mariah, Whitney, Justin, Christina, Spice Girls, Lady Gaga, No Doubt, etc.

I'm also kind of blessed to have a mother who still enjoys the music from her time growing up (she's in her fifties) and she's helped me to appreciate some songs that might not have caught my ear. Patti LaBelle, Prince, Barry White, The Isley Brothers, Marvin Gaye... the list goes on and on.

I even listen to some Spanish music from time to time. My favorite artist would be Selena. I followed her story after her tragic death in 1995 and I fell in love with many of her songs; she was such a true talent taken away at such a young age.

I don't want to keep this one going on forever, but it's truly difficult to pinpoint my favorite singers or songs. Music has had such an impact on my life and I truly love and respect so many aspects of it. :)

LOL Bo, they say a lot; that is true. But trust me, it doesn't say all. :)
Hehe I know, I was just kidding :)
But still, I know that Britney Spears and Brent Corrigan (not as a singer lol) have a special place on the list of your favs :p

Btw, what do you think about this combination? :D

LMAO That is probably the cutest thing I've seen in a long while... and believe it or not, I don't even remember the last time I saw a Brent scene willingly. I do believe that time has passed. Shocking, huh?

But yes, Britney does have a very special place on that list. I can't help it; I've been a fan of hers since she first came on the scene in late 1997; I'll always love that girl.

TheOneAndOnly, I had the privilege of seeing Patti LaBelle live once. I'm surprised I haven't shared this story before...

About five years ago, I had a friend who was a huge fan of "American Idol" runner-up, Bo Bice. He was taping a Christmas special for the Oxygen channel and Patti LaBelle was a special guest. Bo was pretty awesome in his Southern rocker way, but when Ms. LaBelle hit the stage and performed a rendition of "O Holy Night", I was completely floored. To actually be able to see her embody a song and make it her own is truly an experience... I remember the song ending and finding myself in tears... I don't even have a word for how amazing she is.

I've seen her in concert several times..and I also saw her in the play "Your Arms Too Short To Box with God" in which she took the whole place into a frenzy...Great performer who is sooo underrated in the industry as far as I'm concerned...:thumbs up:

Both of you are so lucky. I would love to see Patti Labelle live. I don't know if you've seen this performance, but when I saw this on youtube, I really realized how amazing she is.

My absolute favorite.
