Question is simply but my answer are not as simply: yes and absolutely NO.

Yes means that i beliewe that God (or any other deity) exists as social convention. For me God is social construct or common habit. In many societies people behaves as God or other deities really exists. God have evolved in and from society and God have been taken life of its own.

No means that i don't believe that God or other deities exist outside society or human mind. For me God is purely social construction or construction of human mind. There are not any supernatural being who have created universe.

I know you were not referring to me tomcat and this is not suppose to be a debate thread, but still I'd like to ask you if you ever use the term "nature"? In a sense "What a dramatic blast of color nature gave this butterfly" for example. The term "nature" is often used in that context in bio-science. Which means science itself (unknowingly or unwillingly) treats nature as a higher intelligent being. I just call it god

funny how ask a question and just a yes or no answer--- my answer is no-- i often wonder how someone can believe in god--lets say in christianity--which the beliefs are ripped from several other religions and made their own--

2. Not eating my neuroleptic pills over a longer time, I begin to believe in God (very strong, finally!).

Oh, my dear, read Freud rather than Adorno. Freud is writing clear and distinct. Read his original works, not the works of his followers!
Adorno's writing is similar to Heidegger (in original German!). Dark, obscure, very authoritarian (like all followers of Hegel) and not translatable to Englisch language; e.g.: "Jargon der Eigentlichkeit" is not 'Jargon of Authenticity', but rather "Jargon of authenticity, simulated".
