Javel - Paris XV

The historic factory, with the headquarters offices forground, was totally refounded by André Citroën in 1933.
The factory was demolished in 1976, offices in 1982.

After the Traction, Javel is dedicated to ID/DS, SM and H vans.

Stocked without motor neither roof, waiting for the next stage.

The DS receive its motor from Gutenberg, two streets behind Javel.

The assembling chain.

Moving for the first time on some provisional wheels.

First finition

Second finition

Second finition, one car every 100 seconds

Is it really waterproof?

1959 - 1969, chain exit, the cars are changing but the set remain.

Toward the dealership now...

First of aluminium, these fender grills are of inox sheet metal and bigger from May 1961.
They are assembled only on the DS 19 because the hydraulic fluid is more requested than the one of the ID 19 (assisted steering, hydraulic gearbox and automatic clutch) and it warm more. For the gearbox, the response times are too long. The constructor try to reduce the temperature under the bonnet. Later, with the centrifugal regulator that control the clutch, from August 1960, most of the problems are at last fixed.

From the model 1963 and the new front face, the fender grills are no more necessary.
