I've gotta mention close-ups again. Seems like at least 75% of all porn is nothing but close-ups. It’s like watching flesh-colored wallpaper. It’s all the same and super frustrating when the models are incredibly good looking. I’d like to see full-body shots of them humping their partners for more than the typical one or two minutes per movie. It seems like the film editors give us a few seconds of full-body shots, then it’s right back to 10 minutes of the same old boring close-up.
Has it ever occurred to anyone that the close-ups could be from anywhere? Does the industry have an archive somewhere that film editors routinely use to pad their films, thereby saving a ton in production costs? I used to blame the cameramen, but now I suspect it’s the editors’ fault. They think their customers love the close-ups and rarely, if ever, wanna see rippling muscles or anything truly exciting like that. We’re there to beat our meat! Not to study dermatology.
Sure, close-ups are appropriate once in a while—for
faces, as supplements to the money shot, and as a different perspective for, say, 10% of the entire movie. But what we get is usually 75%. It is so fukkking boring. How many of us fast-forward through this shit half the time?
I didn’t expect porn producers to be Nobel Prize-winning entertainers or anything, but have they all been lobotomized? Wake up! REDUCE the percentage of close-ups. It’s so frustrating to know that there’s a gorgeous model in the flick somewhere but all you can see is a wall of pores.
